Morning Glory • Chel

Phoebus jolted awake, running his shaking hands over his face. How had he fallen asleep? How long was he asleep?
He made his way over to the sink, letting out a low groan at feeling how sore his muscles were.  After splashing cold water on his face, he pulled his shirt off over his head to wipe his face. The voices still echoed in his mind, getting louder and louder.
"God dammit..." he mumbled to himself before placing his hands on the sides of the sink, just leaning over it in silence.
Why did he have to fall sleep...

Chel rolled over on the mattress, she didn't want to wake up: her dreams were much better than the reality that was expecting her. Five more minutes... she thought covering her eyes with her arm, she was dreaming the Ocean, the water, the sound of running water... the sound of running water? She opened an eye to spy what was going on in the cell He's awake.. Phoebus was awake, probably he just woke up, but it seemed that something was wrong. She just stood where she was watching him with one eye open.

Phoebus could hear Chel moving around on the mattress, silently cursing to himself. Had I been to loud and woke her up?
He pushed himself off the sink before splashing his face one last time, shutting off the water. "My apologies if I woke you." His voice was slightly rough from just waking up, back still facing her as he wiped off his face once more with his shirt. He hadn't meant to wake her of course...he just needed a little wake up call.

Chel moved the arm from her forehead and slowly woke up, she hoped she didn't bother him and whatever Phoebus was thinking so deeply.
"It's fine..." she smiled stretching her arms "I've never been a morning person.. but I prefer to not sleep for too long here." she smiled again.

Phoebus cleared his throat as he turned around to face her. "How'd you sleep?" He ran his hand through his hair, leaning his waist against the sink. She seemed to have slept soundly, at least it looked like it whenever he checked on her.

"Good." she smiled "Better than I thought actually." she laughed softly, she wasn't used to sleep on mattress or such things, but it was one of the things she liked of the mainland: mattress and stuff there weren't under the sea.
"You?"

Phoebus gave a small smile as he watched her speak. "That's good, I'm sure you needed it." He crossed his arms over his chest when she asked about him. "Decent enough. Somehow I managed to get a few hours in. Haven't slept in weeks.." His mind was still in a fog since he had woken up, but it was slowly fading.

Chel glanced at him "That's... good? Right?" she raised an eyebrow, if he hadn't slept for weeks a few hours of sleep maybe weren't enough. "Don't you want to sleep some more time?"

"No." His words came out quickly and almost harsh before he cleared his throat. "No, I don't need that much sleep. I'll be fine." He turned his back to her and hung his shirt up on the side of the sink to let it dry out.

Chel blinked in surprise, his reply was immediate and almost rude. "Okay..." she titled her head as he turned again to the sink. "Are you okay?" she asked a bit worried.

Phoebus cursed himself out in his mind. He hadnt meant to worry her. "Just a...bad dream, or whatever humans call them. It's nothing." He turned back to her, trying to flash her an apologetic smile. "My apologies if I came across the wrong way."

Chel smiled and woke up from the mattress "Don't worry.." she smiled trying to reassure him, in the end those were none of her business. "If you ever want to... talk about it..." she scratched her head "I don't know..."

Phoebus moved away from the sink took a few small steps around the room. He knew if he talked to her about it, she wouldn't now how to react and only say 'Sorry...' or something like that. Sympathy is something that he didn't need. "Does everyone have bad dreams? Supernaturals and all?" He glanced over at her, wondering if she had ever had one or two. It was all he ever had.

"Y-yes.. I think so..." Chel blinked watching him curious "Everyone can have them." she was quite sure about it, even she had them. Every kind of creature had his own nightmares and supernaturals weren't exclude from that.

Phoebus sighed to himself and leaned against the wall. So it wasn't just him. Maybe that was a good thing. He considered telling her, but considering where they were, she might think he was on the wrong side. "That's too bad."

"It's normal to have bad dreams!" Chel smiled "Life is not a bed of roses, don't you think? Nightmares are just a part of it." she smiled crossing her arms, why was he so concerned about them?

Phoebus looked at her in surprise. "I suppose not." He let a few moments pass before he walked around the room again. "I'm not used to them I suppose. I don't sleep so I can avoid them."

Chel blinked surprised "Really?!" she couldn't believe it! A big man like him, running away from bad dreams! What was he afraid of?
She cleared her throat "Really? You don't sleep because of nightmares?" she took a few steps towards him "You know that you can't escape from them for ever?"

"Is that such a surprise?" Phoebus assumed most people would want to avoid them as much as possible. "I know I can't run from them forever. I'd just rather only have one once in a while instead of every night." The lack of sleep never really bothered him. Of course hundreds of years of it could make it a habit.

"Actually yes." Chel simply said, it was a surprise to know it, she probably never expected it from Phoebus, but in the end she didn't know a lot about him. In fact she knew nothing of him.
"And you have the same nightmare all the nights?"

Phoebus looked up at her, nodding. "Same thing. Every time." He could still hear that voice..her voice, echoing in his mind. "It's something I'd rather not be reminded of."

"Something... you didn't let go?" Chel ventured that question, she didn't want to get on the personal, but at the same time she did wanted to know something more. "You know... maybe this is why it still.. haunts you..." she whispered.

Phoebus stayed silent for a moment, considering how to word it. "It's time I face it though...since it's here." He knew she was here from the moment he first woke up in this place. Not to mention she was practically running the place. Holli...

(OOC: I changed the very first post a little bit, so this may be confusing xDD He doesn't have a kid anymore)

She raised an eyebrow, here? Was he talking about a prisoner?
Chel watched him, waiting silently that he was actually ready to talk. She didn't want to push him or to seem like she was a meddler. Even if she was dying to know the truth.

(OOC: I did some plotting with Holli, so he basically had a romantic past with the angel running the asylum xDD Sorry to confuse you! Last minute change lol)

He decided it was better not to tell anyone. If they found out...they might think he was a spy or something. "Maybe someday I'll tell someone. She's not safe enough yet..." He looked away from her and walked back over to the sink, pulling his shirt back on.
