Of Time And Space (tags: Phoebus)

Phoebus let out a low groan as he began to wake up. His eyes slowly opened but everything was a blur. All he could make out was the silhouette of a woman sitting above him. But that voice and her smell was something that he could never forget.
"Bloody hell...what did you use this time?" His vision slowly came into focus so he could see her there, just sitting, staring at him. He ran his hand through his hair as he pushed himself into a sitting position on the floor.

His actions froze as she mentioned their last encounter. How many years had it been since he..left?
He let out a few painful growls as he managed to stand up. "I am sorry about that, I really am." His look let her know that he was serious and truly sorry. "Something came up and...I was gone longer than I thought."

He did his best to fight back the frustration that was building in his chest. He knew he had hurt her and he knew that this day would come eventually. If only he had prepared himself more.
"Would you have stuck around if I told you?" He dropped his hands back down by his side, taking a few steps closer to her. "I did it to protect you. If I had come back for you, you probably wouldn't be sitting in that chair right now." His voice rose slightly as he spoke, showing a hint of frustration.

He reached out for her arm as she walked past but he couldn't bring himself to touch her. She wasn't the same person she used to be...and that was his fault. "You think you're the only one that got hurt by this?" He turned to face her, his voice full of disappointment and anger. "I know I hurt you but I haven't stopped thinking about you since that day. It's been centuries Holli, centuries of regret and..." He finally walked over to her, placing his hand on her shoulder to force her to look at him. "I had to leave. If I didn't leave I...I wouldn't have been able to see you as alive as you are right now." His hand caressed her cheek, feeling her warmth beneath his fingertips.

His hand dropped back down to his side as he closed his eyes. "I was the center of the war Holli. If anyone found out about us, they would have come after you. I was trying to keep you safe!" He growled in frustration as he turned his back to her, running both of his hands through his hair. "You are the only thing in this world that I love...that I've ever loved. You didn't deserve to pay for my mistakes."

Her face fell at his words, "Oh Phoebus...I wish you had told me all this sooner." She said. "I never told my sister about you...or The Archangel. I let them believe that the only reason I wanted to hunt down supernatural creatures was for revenge. While that was partly true, the real reason was because of you. I feared that you had died, that something terrible had happened. And then I discovered the truth, and then I wondered how much I really knew about us. How much of it was real Phoebus?" She asked as she looked up at him.

He turned to look at her, taking in every word she was saying. "All of it..all of it was real." He cupped her face in his hands and looked down into her eyes. "All of it, I promise." It had been so long since he had seen her, since he had been this close to her. But because he was here, in this place, he knew it wouldn't last. Though he had this moment, this time with her, to make up for his sins.

Holli stared up at him, her eyes soft as he stared down at her. She could tell he meant every word...well fuck...she had told herself she was over him. She had even started allowing herself to have feelings for her boss...she knew he liked her and then then this. This wasn't what was supposed to have happened, "I believe you." She said after a long pause. Sudden tears filled her eyes, "You can't stay here Phoebus! I can't watch you die...and Archangel will probably want that once he finds out about us! He won't like how I've kept our past a secret from him, you can leave now and I'll.. I'll make up some excuse." She said as she clung to him as if afraid that he would disappear before her eyes. As much as he had hurt her, she didn't want to lose him a second time. "The first time I lost you...I almost died...to lose you a second time....please." She whispered as tears fell down her face.

Phoebus frowned as he watched her. "Holli, I can't live forever, you of all people should know that." He lightly kissed her forehead and wiped the tears from her face. "If this is where it has to happen, then so be it. You've gone this long without me, I know you're strong enough to do it again." He took a small step back from her, just taking in her whole image. "If I leave now, he will know someone let me out, and you're the first person he will go to. I can't let him hurt you for my sake."

"Its not me I'm worried about...he wouldn't hurt me. You on the other hand...he'll make you suffer Phoebus." She said quietly as she watched him. "He could make me be the one to cause you pain." She added as she wrapped her arms around herself in a hug. "He has a very unique skill set Phoebus...one I know you wouldn't be ready for. He takes people's weaknesses and he exploits them."'She said, her tone both admiring and fearful. It was hard to tell which emotion came out stronger, "So if you're sure you're ready for that...then so be it." She added as she chanced a look over at him.

"I love you Holli, and if he loves you too, we might just be lucky enough that he'll let it slide. But if not...I'm ready to face it. It's my fault you had to go through so much these past centuries, and I have to make up for that." He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her as close to his chest as he could. "We will be okay." He placed two fingers under her chin, gently tilting her head up so she could look at him. "It will be okay."

"It wasn't just your fault you know, if we had just been honest with each other, we wouldn't be in this mess." She pointed out. She sighed and nodded at his comforting words, "I know...but you do realize I'll have to treat you like everyone else right?" She asked after a moment. "I can't go easy on you, if I do he'll notice." She said, the worry showing on her face now.

"I wouldn't expect any less from you." He said teasingly, giving her a comforting smile. "Stop looking so worried and give me a smile." He lightly pinched her cheek to try and cheer her up. Her sad side was so lovely, but her tears always made his stomach churn. He hated seeing her upset.

(Waaaahhh!!! *sits down and cries*)
Holli chuckled, a tiny reluctant smile showing as she looked up at him. "Better?" She asked as she moved one hand up to rub out the slight sting in her cheek from where he had pinched her. "I forgot how you used to do that." She added after a moment, a nostalgic look on her face before an even softer smile grew. "I've missed you." She whispered, moving her hand up to lightly land on his cheek. For all her faults, underneath it all was a woman like most others. She had a loving heart if you ever managed to reach it and there were very few people who got to see this side of Holli.

Phoebus let out a low chuckle. "Much better." He placed a hand gently on her waist as he slightly leaned into her touch on his cheek. It had been so long his he had felt the gentleness of her touch. He stared into her eyes, holding back his urge to just kiss her until he ran out of breath. She was already having a hard time just seeing him and he didn't need to make it worse. "I haven't stopped thinking about you all these years."

(OOC: Night <3 It's already almost 3am here xDDD I should probably go to bed too lol)

She smiled up at him, "Neither have I." She admitted, one hand moving up to bury in his hair. "I almost forgot what you looked like." She said as she took him in. She could stay here like this for a long time she realized, she silently wondered if he knew how much he affected her even now.

A smile came across his face as he felt her touch. He could hardly contain himself anymore. "Holli.." He whispered her name as he pulled her body closer and brushed his lips lightly against hers. A satisfying jolt went through his body as they touched. He had waited so long for just one more kiss, and this could possibly be his last one.

Her eyes widened as he suddenly said her name in a tone that she hadn't heard in a long time. As he bent down and lightly brushed his lips against hers, she responded. Her hands tightened on him as she deepened the kiss slightly. Her whole body tingled from his kiss and his hands on her as she clung to him.

Phoebus felt a sensation he hadn't felt for so long since he had been with her. He felt..happy. He kissed her as long as he could, dreading the moment he had to let go before finally breaking the kiss. His gaze looked over her, saving this moment in his memory forever. She looked so fragile, so beautiful, just like when they first met. For the first time in years he didn't want to let her go. He just wanted to hold her like this forever.

As he pulled away, she stared up at him with her lips slightly parted. He looked so much like how she had remembered him. Her heart hurt as she stared up at him, "Phoebus." She whispered. He was a man she had given her heart too...and now she wasn't entirely sure how she felt about him. She took a few breaths as if to clear her head as she stared up at him.
